Let’s give a round of applause to our newest employee spotlight, Wendy Maki! 

Wendy is an Escrow Officer at Alliance Title’s Coeur d’Alene, ID branch. Wendy joined Alliance Title in 2005, moved away briefly in 2012, and rejoined the team in 2017. Along with her fellow escrow officers, she helps to close residential sale/purchases, commercial, and refinance transactions. 

Service and communication are two important values for Wendy when it comes to her job. She says, “One thing my team does extremely well is over communicate!” Wendy continues, “Keeping people in the loop on their transaction makes our agents shine with their customers and helps the customers know what they should expect next in their transaction.”

Wendy’s favorite aspect of what she does is being able to see the joy from all sides. She explains, “You get to be involved with someone purchasing their dream home, or selling to start a new journey in their lives. You help the agents to create a lasting relationship with their clients who they just helped buy or sell a home. And the lender is so very important to what we do because they create the ability for people to close their transactions.” Wendy says helping people through one of the most important times in their lives is why she does escrow!

When asked who she admires most, Wendy says her grandpa! He was an Army Veteran who became a police detective, then a farmer after an injury as a police officer. Wendy says, “He taught me hard work and love for his family… He worked so hard day in and day out but ALWAYS found the time to spend with his grandkids.” Wendy worked long hours alongside him as a teen and learned what it means to get your hands dirty. Wendy is able to use all the tools she learned from him in her job today. She explains, “We work long hours to make sure that the transactions close on time and people have the best experiences they can.”

Outside of work, Wendy stays busy spending time with her 5 kids and 2 grandkids. One of the family activities they enjoy doing most together is snowmobiling.
