Community Spotlight – Salmon, Idaho

The charming town of Salmon, Idaho can be found nestled within the mountains of Central Idaho. The city of Salmon is located along the Salmon River – once named “The River of No Return” due to boats not being able to make it back upstream.

Home to the Sacajawea Interpretive Culture and Education Center, Salmon celebrates Lemhi Shoshone culture and highlights Sacajawea’s legacy.

Salmon’s scenic mountain town has origins in mining, lumbering, and family ranching. Now, Salmon is rich in art galleries, a variety of restaurants, and plenty of outdoor recreational activities – fishing, biking, rafting, cross-county skiing, and hiking – just to name a few!
